meet KEVIN!
Kevin Gerdes served 33 years with the Minnesota National Guard where he culminated his career as Brigadier General for the 34th “Red Bull” Division. Upon completion of his combat tour in Iraq, Kevin helped to lead the “Beyond the Yellow Ribbon” program that became a model for federal legislation in 2008.
In 2012, Kevin retired from the military, earned his doctorate and served as the Director for the Master of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School until 2023. Kevin and his wife Mickey live in Mahtomedi. They have two grown boys, two daughters-in-law and two grandchildren.
